Artist Bio:
Christine Leong, has a passion for creative arts. Her painting style demonstrates soft, lyrical brush strokes; her specialty is in Kois and floral. Ms. Leong’s art works reflect unique and original images that combine Asian and Western painting techniques.
Since immigrating to Camarillo area in 2002, her paintings have been juried in shows and art walks in California. She has won many awards, including 1st place at 2004, 2008 & 2010 Ventura County Fair Professional Division and Award of Excellence at 2007 California State Fair in Sacramento. She has exhibited extensively around the world. In 2008 Christine was invited to display her artwork ‘Nine Kois’ at Beijing Art Museum, China. The art exhibition, Salute Beijing Olympics and Display Chinese Civilization, is a featured event of 2008 Olympic Culture Festival which assembled 100 emerging Chinese artists worldwide to showcase the Chinese culture and visual arts.
Artist Statement:
I introduce elements of nature in my paintings to reflect my character. Capturing nature can be accomplished by using a camera but I take pleasure in using the elements of watercolor and rice paper to express my images.
Nature has a unique language, my paintings reflect my desire to capture the moment to be displayed and enjoyed in a traditional Asian manner.
