Bringing art and music together continues to be the focus of the Annual Camarillo Art & Jazz Festival. The event has traditionally taken place at Studio Channel Islands Art Center (SCIART) on the picturesque Cal State Channel Islands campus. A group of dedicated committee members, many of which are artists themselves, worked to bring a first-class jazz and art event to Camarillo. Past events brought the New West Symphony and Channel Islands Ballet Company together and in 2003, the first Annual Art & All That Jazz event was launched. The event included celebrity artists, catered food, live & silent auctions, and a variety of jazz groups headlined by Hiroshima in 2003 and by the legendary, Mose Allison in 2004. At 2005 event, the blues inspired jazz of Maria Muldaur and her Bluesiana band took center stage. In 2006, The David Sanborn Group was featured at the Gala Event of the first city-wide Art and Jazz Festival. In 2007, the City of Camarillo, Studio Channel Islands Art Center and the Boys & Girls Club joined together to bring an enchanted weekend of music and art, making for the largest event ever to take place in Camarillo. Wworld-renowned sax musician Eric Marienthal and his ensemble played on campus behing SCIART. In 2008, The event was consolidated in Old Town Camarillo with Royal Crown Review opening for Dave Koz and Friends .
