Artist’s Statement

Turning a concept of my mind into a visual image brings me great joy. I am hopeful that those who look at my work find the beauty and spirit life has to offer, images that please the senses. I enjoy painting still life, landscape and, particularly, people…whatever inspires me at the moment. There’s a feeling like no other when you’re drawing or painting_capturing the mood of the moment in nature, of the sitter. I look at art as a sweet sojourn.

Life is never dull, the creature is never bored, when he or she becomes the creator.

(The Pursuit of Happiness by Pearl S. Buck, winner of the 1938 Nobel Prize for Literature.)
