Gallery Visits

  • Guided tour of The Blackboard Gallery and exhibition
  • Professional Artist Talk and/or Demonstration
  • Hands-on Art Projects led by Working Artists

Art projects are inspired by the exhibition (see below for schedule) and designed for specific grade levels to cover Visual Arts Standards, to reinforce subject matter across the curriculum and to nurture SEL. Each visit can accommodate two to three classes at a time (70 students max). Visit duration is 1.5–2.5 hours depending on exhibition, grade level and group size. Thanks to a grant from the City of Camarillo, school visits are free of charge. Transportation must be provided by the school.

Artists in Schools

  • Professional Artists lead specialized art programs focusing on their own techniques and mediums of choice.
  • Courses are designed specific to grade level and to provide support in Visual Art Standards, core subject matters and Social Emotional Learning.
  • Artists visit sites during school hours to work with specific classes.
  • Full and partial grant funding available.

After-School Enrichment Classes

  • Programs available for Grades K–2, 3–5, and 6–8
  • 60–90-minute classes offered directly after school
