Sandra J. Hall is an oil artist in Southern California. Painting rescued this workaholic from a stress-filled one-dimensional life style and dropped her into a world of light, color and infinite exploration. Usually a wordsmith, Sandra discovered that a picture really is worth a thousand words … and then some. Whether chasing the sun en plein air or capturing a nuance in a studio still life, painting has taught her to look at something — then look again — and present a viewpoint often overlooked or hidden till then.
“Workshops with Sharon Burkett Kaiser introduced me to the joy of painting outdoors in the company of talented and generous artists,” says Sandra. “Then many years under the extraordinary tutelage of David C. Gallup gave me knowledge and honed my skills to always seek that special ‘something’ not noticed before. Painting is the art of seeing and sharing that insight through our own unique expression.”
For five years, Sandra served as a chapter chair for the California Art Club, hosting monthly paint-outs at Malibu and Ventura County land and sea locations. “I believe that the breath of growing occurs in the cycle of learning and giving back. That’s the cycle I choose to experience … in my painting and in my life.”
