Yasemin Zografos was born in Istanbul, Turkey, and grew up in Washington state, and Thousand Oaks, California, where she currently lives. A lifelong artist, she studied art privately and attended classes at Moorpark College, and CSUN.
A love of animals and the natural world have been a constant influence in her work. Since childhood, from family trips to the Puget Sound, and exploring fields, marshes, and hills in the coastal areas of Central and Southern California, the outdoors provide an endless source of inspiration.
An early interest in the use of line led her to explore more graphic art mediums, and ultimately printmaking for its versatility, tactile quality, and ability to experiment with color, repetition, and printing surface.
She has practiced Linocut, Woodcut, Wood Engraving, Etching, Drypoint, Mezzotint, Collagraph, and Monotype, as well as Letterpress printing, Marbling, Book Arts, and Watercolor
