Title of Exhibition: Pixels: Synopses: handwoven tapestry faces by Michael F. Rohde
Dates of Exhibition: February 8 – June 29, 2025
Organization hosting exhibition: Fresno Art Museum. Fresno, CA
About the Exhibition: Handwoven tapestry has often been pushed to the limits of the medium’s capabilities, to approach photorealism. My approach is to recognize the grid imposed by the loom. For me, this leads to an examination of the minimum bits of information that can suggest a recognizable image.
Additional Information: Ten works from Michael F. Rohde’s series of handwoven pixelated faces will be included in a two person exhibit the the Fresno Art Museum in Fresno, CA. February 8 – June 29, 2025 – opening reception February 8; the artists will be present.
