Visitor General Information
Located in an old elementary school site, Studio Channel Islands (SCIART) includes two art galleries, 40 artists studios, an outdoor exhibition and event space. The site has plenty of free parking and easy access to transit, restaurants and shopping.
Admission
Thanks to our donors and members, admission to the galleries is free during our regular opening hours.
For information about admission for special events, please visit our tickets page. SCIART Members receive discounts and free admission to many of our events. Learn more about our membership program here.

Studio Channel Islands (SCIART) is dedicated to bringing local and regional fine art to our community. The exhibit schedule features invitational solo shows and juried group shows as well as themed exhibitions that reach out to an extended community.

Unraveling Narratives

This summer we will mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with an exhibition of contemporary fiber art. The exhibition will feature a diverse range of artists whose work redefines fiber through merging traditional techniques like weaving, crochet, and embroidery with modern themes of identity, sustainability, and activism.

11 am – 4 pm
The artist studios are open by appointment and on the first Saturday of each month from 11 am – 4 pm. About 40 artists have studios within the converted classrooms. Learn more about studio space for artists here.
