Grew up drawing and painting, wrote first poem at age ten and pursued the literary arts, all the while practicing the visual arts secondarily. Started studio/gallery in Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone and maintained it for almost fifteen years, where I came to realize that what we all want from art is to be temporarily arrested by something floating and glowing; thus, all my work must float and glow. Some years ago I put focus on the drawn abstraction, or scribble, where I consciously place focus on it, rather than deploy it as a motif. My colorfield works are primarily monotypes, though continue to use all mediums, and continuously endeavor to find new ways of using age-old materials.
