Summary
The triumphant return of a SCIART favorite!
The Black Market Trust is a five member jazz band based in Los Angeles. Since the 2012 release of their all instrumental debut album “The Black Market Trust,” a milestone in the genre of gypsy jazz, the band has gone on to record two more albums, maintain a busy touring schedule, and have their music featured on TV shows like the ABC television series “Happy Endings” and the Hulu original program “Casual.” The band features the Django Reinhardt inspired gypsy sound of acoustic instruments, and infuses classics from the Great American Songbook with intricate vocal harmonies inspired by The Beach Boys, and other artists influential to the group. Their sophomore album “II” featured a Top Ten hit on the Adult Contemporary charts, a signature version of “Route 66”.

Summary
Join us for a sneak preview of songs from an upcoming Broadway musical in development! Have you ever wondered how many steps it takes to get a musical from inception to stage?
Composer songwriter Lisbeth Scott will share songs from her upcoming show Born of The Sun, as she prepares for the show’s first workshop in New York this June.
Born of The Sun is a poignant and uplifting story of one woman’s journey from trauma to joy. She’ll be joined by a few friends for an evening that promises to be joyful and moving.
Called “Absolutely ravishing” by Maestro John Williams, “Perfection” by Yo Yo Ma, and “Nothing short of genius” by Maestro John Debney, Lisbeth’s music and voice will transport you to a place of beauty.
A gifted young poet and musician reveals a secret that never should have been kept and finds herself kicked out of her family home. With the laughter, loving support and inspiration of her Armenian immigrant grandparents, she grapples with trust, dares to open her heart and ultimately finds joy by discovering the power of her own voice.
